Our History
The Rotary Club of Metairie Sunrise was officially chartered on May 21, 1985.  It's charter members worked with a group from the Rotary Club of Metairie, led by committee chair Henry Osoinach and Past District Governor Charley Johnson.  The club held it's first installation banquet on June 24, 1985 at the Gateway Hotel (now the Holiday Inn) on North Causeway Boulevard, where it originally held it's weekly meetings.  he tradition of the Sunrise members has been one of service to the community, dedication to the ideals of Rotary, Thursday morning fellowship, laughter and enthusiasm, club activities and the world of Rotary District 6840 before going on to each individuals daily activity.
